Chiropractic Assistant

A Chiropractic Assistant (CA or chiropractic Angel as they like to be known) is the back bone of any Chiropractic office. Their role is a receptionist, a book keeper, a time keeper, a personal assistant, a cleaner, a banker, an organiser, a mum, a referee… The list goes on.

The main thing is that they are specifically trained to help you with every concern you may have while in the care of one of our chiropractors. They will be with you from the very first phone call and will guide you through every adjustment, report and reassessment as a client of Grange Family Chiropractic.

Consider them part of our chiropractic family.

When I started working at Grange Family Chiropractic, I had had no real experience of chiropractic.  I loved the idea of a clinic that was focused on family care, particularly as I have two young children myself and have always preferred drug free, natural health care for them.  My 17 month old boy had always been a troubled sleeper - he constantly woke during the night , and rarely slept  for more than 20 minutes during the day.   After starting care with Sandy, he began to sleep during the night and have a two hour sleep during the day, every day (much to our great relief).   Myself and my family are now regularly adjusted and have joined the ranks of those that I see enjoying better health every day.  It's amazing to see the great results people have with chiropractic  - it makes coming to work really enjoyable!

I was introduced to Sandy & chiropractic through my mum, Helen, who worked as a CA at Grange Family Chiropractic for about a year. So when she decided to return to her job as a teacher, we saw it as the perfect opportunity for me to take her place! Before I began working at the GFC my knowledge of chiropractic was very slim... I thought it was all about cracking people's backs! So when i met Sandy and found out what chiropractic actually involved I was very surprised. Ever since then I regularly get adjusted and have definitely noticed the benefits.

I was introduced to Grange Family Chiropractic and Dr. Sandy in 2007 by a friend who used to work at the clinic. I had moved down to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast for university and was looking for a job when my friend suggested I apply here. Before this I had not had any experience with chiropractic. It was not until I read the clinic’s website that I gained an appreciation for the chiropractic philosophy and the science behind it. When I started working here I was amazed to hear some of the great chiropractic success stories from the other clients and soon started having regular care myself.
Currently I am still at university doing my Honours in Psychology, with the aim of going on to the Clinical Masters in Psychology next year. In my spare time I am a member of QCheer a competitive cheerleading team (who are currently the best university or high school team in the country might I add).  I have found chiropractic a great benefit to my health given the knocks and bumps I often receive at cheerleading training. I also believe chiropractic has helped to keep me functioning at my optimum level, despite the stresses that have come with studying.

Chiropractic has been a part of my life since my first adjustment at 3hrs old and I strongly believe that frequent care contributed greatly to an illness free childhood. I have been part of the GFC team for almost 2 years and I am constantly learning new things about how chiropractic can help. I am currently studying nursing/midwifery and when I don’t have my head in a textbook I can be found doing children's fairy parties or dancing up a storm!

During my time working for the Grange Family Chiropractic I have become aware of the potential benefits chiropractic care offers.  I am currently studying Applied Science, and am fascinated with how the body works and how much the spine and nervous system controls the function of the body.  I am privileged to see first hand how chiropractic care can change people’s lives, and enjoy watching our clients improve from visit to visit.  I am lucky enough to work in a considerate and vibrant team, and want everyone to experience chiropractic like I have.

Dr Sandy Asks some important questions of interest to Grange residents - Chiropractor Grange Dr Sandy Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
